Introduction
Few anime have kept me guessing the way Jujutsu Kaisen has. With the original manga completed in September 2024, the biggest question is no longer how the main story will end, but what comes next for the franchise. (TVアニメ「呪術廻戦」公式サイト)
For me, the answer is especially interesting because the anime still has major ground to cover. Season 3 adapted the beginning of the Culling Game, while Season 4, Culling Game Part 2, is already in production. (TVアニメ「呪術廻戦」公式サイト)
1. The Culling Game Will Become Even More Intense
I expect the next season to push the Culling Game into an even more dangerous phase. The battle between sorcerers is already creating unpredictable alliances, and characters such as Yuji, Yuta, Megumi, Maki, Hakari and others are heading toward increasingly difficult confrontations.
From a storytelling perspective, I think this arc will continue testing how far each character is willing to go to achieve their goals.

2. Yuji’s Character Could Take Center Stage
Yuji has changed dramatically since the beginning of the series. I expect the upcoming story to explore his emotional development alongside his increasing strength.
Rather than simply becoming a stronger fighter, I believe Yuji’s biggest challenge will be deciding what kind of person he wants to become after everything he has experienced.
3. Megumi’s Fate Remains Crucial
Megumi has always been central to the larger conflict, and I think his situation will remain one of the biggest emotional questions going forward.
His relationship with Yuji, his connection to Sukuna and the wider Culling Game make his future extremely important to the story.
4. Yuta Could Become Even More Important
I see Yuta as one of the characters most capable of changing the balance of power. His abilities, experience and relationship with the other sorcerers give him enormous narrative potential.
The anime has already highlighted his importance, and I expect future episodes to make his role even more significant.
5. More Focus on the Jujutsu World
One thing I would personally like to see is more exploration of the world outside the immediate battles. The series has introduced fascinating ideas about cursed energy, sorcerer society and ancient techniques.
Future stories could explore these elements more deeply rather than relying entirely on increasingly powerful fights.

6. Jujutsu Kaisen’s Story May Continue Beyond the Original Manga
This is where things get particularly interesting. The original manga is finished, but the franchise is not necessarily finished exploring its world.
A near-future spin-off, Jujutsu Kaisen ≡ (Modulo), began serialization in 2025, showing that there is still room for new stories connected to the franchise. (TVアニメ「呪術廻戦」公式サイト)
For me, this opens the door to more characters, new conflicts and potentially different interpretations of the Jujutsu Kaisen universe.

7. The Anime Could Become the Franchise’s Next Major Chapter
I think the anime adaptation itself will now become one of the biggest ways fans experience the remaining story. With Season 4 confirmed, the Culling Game still has plenty of material to bring to the screen. (TVアニメ「呪術廻戦」公式サイト)
For content creators and businesses, this also creates an interesting opportunity. Every major episode can generate discussions, searches, reviews, social content and community engagement.

Conclusion
I don’t think the future of Jujutsu Kaisen depends on simply introducing an even stronger villain. What excites me more is seeing how the franchise develops its characters, expands its world and builds stories beyond the original manga.
The main story may be complete, but the Jujutsu Kaisen universe still has plenty of potential.
What do you think should happen next in Jujutsu Kaisen—the anime’s remaining story, or an entirely new story within its universe ?
